London East Academy Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Success in 2025

প্রকাশিত হয়েছে : ২১ আগস্ট ২০২৫

Desh Desk, 21 August 2025 : London East Academy is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its pupils in this year’s GCSE examinations. The 2025 results mark one of the strongest in the school’s history, with pupils excelling across a wide range of subjects and achieving a significant increase in top grades.

In a record setting year, 62% of pupils achieved Grade 5 or above in five subjects including English and Maths, a remarkable improvement from 47% in 2024 and well above the national figure of 52%. In addition, 93% of pupils secured at least Grade 4 in five or more subjects, compared to a national average of 67%.**

Performance in English and Maths has also been particularly strong, with 67% of pupils gaining Grade 5 or above, a significant rise from 50% last year and ahead of national outcomes. The proportion of pupils achieving the very top grades (Grade 7+) has also made excellent progress, rising from 13% in 2024 to 21% in 2025, matching the national picture.**

“Alhamdulillah, we are overjoyed with the excellent results achieved by our students this year”, said Ustad Mubarak, Head of English and Assistant Headteacher. “I congratulate all of them on their hard work and perseverance, and we thank Allah for granting success. These achievements are also a reflection of the dedication of our staff and the support of our families, without whom this would not have been possible. As Head of English, I am particularly delighted to see our pupils excelling in both English Language and Literature, continuing to raise standards year after year,”

The school continues to achieve strong performance across both core and specialist subjects. English and Maths remain areas of consistent success, while Science, Computing, History, and Religious Studies have shown remarkable improvement. Arabic also stands out as a clear strength, with pupils once again attaining outstanding results.

Students are delighted with their results. “Alhamdulillah I achieved high grades across all subjects. I am pleased with my results and grateful to Allah. I will miss my time at LEA but look forward to the next chapter,” said Talhah Rahman.

Teachers also welcomed the results with pride and joy . “Alhamdulillah, I am delighted with the outstanding success of our pupils in Arabic this year. Their results are a testament to their commitment, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of their families. May Allah grant them continued success in their studies,” added Ustad Nasrullah, Head of Arabic.

Head Boy, Rafsan Sikder, reflected on his achievements: “I am happy to have achieved these results. Alhamdulillah me and Talhah have been students of the school for a long time, starting at Al Mizan before moving onto London East Academy. We are really pleased, and so were many of our classmates. It was good to celebrate together. After Allah’s help we want to thank our parents and teachers for all their continuous support and encouragement helping to facilitate this. We are now going to start at sixth form, and some of us will be going to the same sixth form together.”

London East Academy congratulates all of its pupils on their success and looks forward to seeing them thrive as they move forward into sixth form, further education, and beyond.

Headteacher Anamul Khan said: “We are extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements this year. These results reflect the determination and hard work of our young people, the tireless efforts of our staff, and the support of our parents. It is inspiring to see so many of our pupils excelling and achieving their potential, whilst at the same time remaining committed to their tahfiz and Islamic studies.”

(Note: National comparison is difficult at this stage as results are provisional until validated in October 2025. Some of the headline measures that an independent school would report on are not typical Department for Education measures (e.g. Progress 8 or Attainment 8).
